1. SOCIAL WORKER / CASEWORKER (FOCY)

Job Description

Established in 1996, Life Community Ltd. is a mid-sized social service agency serving children and youth from low-resourced, vulnerable and at-risk backgrounds. Our vision is for every child to be the best that they can be, through our mission of empowering children and families through care and mentoring.

We are looking for compassionate Social Workers / Caseworkers to journey alongside children and youth with incarcerated parents through the island-wide Friends of Children & Youth (FOCY) programme.

The programme seeks to strengthen the socio-emotional wellbeing of children and youth, while enhancing family resilience through casework interventions, family programmes, and group work. These efforts aim to progressively reduce the intergenerational transmission of criminogenic risk factors.

Key Responsibilities

Casework

  • Conduct intake assessments and maintain accurate case management documentation for new referrals.
  • Maintain regular monthly case engagement through home visits, basic counselling, caregiver engagement, and stakeholder collaboration.
  • Receive close supervisory support in managing case crises in accordance with sectoral ethical guidelines and frameworks.
  • Partner with community stakeholders (e.g. Family Service Centres and schools) to support families with complex needs.
  • Support families in navigating the social service ecosystem through referrals and access to subsistence resources.
  • Assist in programme evaluation, data collection, analysis, and reporting to support continuous service improvement.

Programmes and Group Work

  • Facilitate and support child/youth-centred mentoring interventions, including collaborating with volunteer mentors to implement client care plans.
  • Work with corporate partners to plan, organise, and implement fun-driven enriching programmes and activities for children/youth, and their families.

Compliance and Best Practices

  • Maintain accurate and confidential client records in compliance with organisational policies, ethical standards, data protection and regulatory requirements.
  • Demonstrate a continuous learning mindset through active participation in regular individual and group supervision sessions, contributing to reflective practice and shared professional learning.

Requirements – Experience and Competencies

  • Possess a Graduate Diploma or Degree in Social Work or a related discipline.
  • Have at least 2 years of experience in casework management; experience working with children and youth will be an added advantage.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build genuine connections with children, youth, and their caregivers.
  • A collaborative team player who works well with internal and external stakeholders to achieve meaningful programme outcomes.
  • Resourceful, dependable, and able to work independently while managing multiple responsibilities with confidence and care.
  • Enjoys being on the move and engaging families through home visits across the community.
  • Passionate about journeying with children and youth, and believes in the power of positive role modelling to inspire change and resilience.

 

 

2. ADMINISTRATOR (STUDENT CARE CENTRE)

Location: Sengkang

Job Description

Life Community Ltd. is one of the leaders in the Student Care sector, and we are looking to recruit committed individuals who have a calling from God to serve together as a team by providing quality after-school care support in a homely environment. You will play an active role in the following areas:

Centre Administration

  • General office administration such as correspondence, filing, faxing, photocopying, mailing.
  • Attend to general enquires, enrolment, answering of telephone calls, taking down of messages and replenishing supplies.
  • Assist in coordinating of holidays/ad-hoc programmes (eg arrangement of transport).
  • Minutes-taking during staff meeting.
  • Ensuring inventory listing for Centre is updated and hardcopy purchases are filed
  • Attend to parents at the door and support the student dismissal process
  • Manage daily student attendance and temperature record
  • To update notice board/ replenish Office supplies
  • In charge of Centre IT equipment, eg. laptops and thermometers
  • To handle Centre maintenance and troubleshooting
  • To collect items to and from another Centre where feasible

Accounts

  • Collection of enrolment fees, issuing of receipts and follow-up on payments.
  • Processing of students’ subsidies with MSF and general claims.
  • Weekly banking and liaison with accountant from corporate office on all accounting matters.
  • Basic bookkeeping of all accounts.

General

  • Other duties assigned by the Supervisor or Manager of Life Student Centre.
  • Stand-in for teachers during their absence (fetching, supervision & discipline of students)

The desired candidate should be/ possess:

  • Minimum qualification of a Diploma
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in administrative roles
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and IT savvy
  • Meticulous and able to multi-task
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Numerically inclined, able to work independently
  • Able to start work immediately or short notice period

 

 

3. STUDENT CARE TEACHER (PART-TIME)

Location: Hougang

Job Description

Life Community Ltd. is one of the leaders in the Student Care sector, and we are looking to recruit committed individuals who have a calling from God to serve together as a team to mentor children aged 7 – 12 by providing quality after-school care support in a homely environment.

You will play an active role in identifying the needs of the children and to support their learning and holistic development through the following:

  • Supervising and guiding the children with their homework
  • Planning and delivering programmes, such as character development programmes
  • Organising enrichment workshops that can help promote the overall development of the children
  • Curate creative activities to develop skills and expand mindsets in the areas of innovation, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Engage children in outdoor play that serves to build psychomotor skills

As a significant adult figure to the children, you will be engaging with parents and caregivers as well as leveraging on resources in the community, for the well-being of the children.

4. FUNDRAISING ASSISTANT DIRECTOR

We are seeking a strategic and dynamic Fundraiser who has a passion for children to lead our organisation’s fundraising initiatives. This role is pivotal in leading the development of a comprehensive financial sustainability plan and to execute effective fundraising strategies to support our mission and programmes. The position will expand and diversify our funding sources, cultivate relationships with donors, and manage fundraising campaigns and events, to support the growth plans of the agency. Key Responsibilities

Strategic Fundraising Planning

  • Develop a financial sustainability plan with comprehensive fundraising goals, budget and fundraising strategies, in line with the organisation’s vision and mission
  • Work closely with the Board and senior management team to identify fundraising priorities and opportunities and set annual fundraising targets and performance metrics to measure success.
  • Identify and pursue new funding opportunities, including grants, sponsorships, and partnerships.
  • Foster collaboration across all areas of the organisation to ensure alignment in achieving fundraising goals.

Donor Cultivation & Stakeholder Management

  • Identify, cultivate, and solicit financial contributions and gifts from individuals, corporations, and foundations.
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with donors and stakeholders.
  • Develop personalised stewardship plans to recognise and engage donors.
  • Represent the organisation at relevant events and engage with key supporters to build lasting win-win connections.

Grant Writing & Proposal Development

  • Research and apply for grants that align with the organisation’s programmes and initiatives.
  • Develop compelling proposals and reports to secure funding from diverse sources.

Event Planning & Campaigns

  • Lead, plan and execute all fundraising activities, including major donor cultivation, online campaigns and special events.
  • Plan and execute fundraising events and campaigns to generate financial support and community engagement.
  • Collaborate with the marketing and communications team to create promotional materials for campaigns.

Framework and Process Oversight

  • Enhance and formalise donor engagement and management processes.
  • Uphold legal and ethical standards in fundraising practices, ensuring transparency, honesty, and accountability in all interactions with donors and stakeholders.

Data Management & Reporting

  • Oversee donor database management to track contributions, donor interactions, and campaign effectiveness.
  • Analyse donor data to identify trends, and review donor engagement strategies to assess the effectiveness of fundraising programmes, making data-driven and research-backed decisions to optimise fundraising efforts.

Requirements – Experience and Competencies

  • Degree holder in the area of Nonprofit Management, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field.
  • Relevant working experience with minimum 6 to 8 years of experience in fundraising, with a proven track record of securing major gifts, grants, and managing successful campaigns. Experience in the social service sector is preferred.
  • Familiarity with digital fundraising strategies and tools
  • Excellent persuasion and negotiation skills, with the ability to inspire and influence others.
  • Strong people leadership and management skills, with experience in team development and collaborating across teams.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to analyse data and derive insights to inform strategic decisions.
